Social Media Won’t Grow Your Business

by Justin Lukasavige on March 15, 2010

The Free Agent Academy (affiliate link) members I spoke to yesterday in the mountains of Colorado don’t believe that statement. We spent a few hours together reviewing how I use many forms of media in my business and how they can do the same.

I put together this nifty map to show who’s reading Become a Coach.

Without the existence of social media, I have no idea how this map would be possible. I don’t have a lucrative book deal or even distribution in retail stores. But I do reach out and add value to people with tools like twitter, facebook, and linkedin. That often results in the sale of a book, a speaking engagement or a new client.

Don’t pass up opportunities to add value and serve others.

Want to add your zip code to the map?

The Power of Reach

by Justin Lukasavige on December 2, 2009

I host a radio show on a tiny station in Raleigh, NC. I called a guy you’ll likely be hearing much more of over the coming years and he nearly dropped the phone. He was driving through the middle of nowhere in Mississippi listening to my radio show on his iPod.

That’s the power of reach.

What does it mean?

You can compete with the big players.
No one is off limits or out of bounds.  In fact, the big players now have a tough time competing with you.  You may be small, but you have reach.  No amount of money will buy that.  Being real and interacting with your community is what it’s all about.
